If you have a double chin you probably hate taking photos and position your head in a certain way when taking selfies. However, there are many ways which can help you to get rid of that double chin, and they don’t include the surgical method. Keep reading to find out those ways.
Exercises to get rid of a double chin
When it comes to getting rid of the double chin, there are two ways. The first way is through exercise, and the second one is through food and massages. The following exercises are very simple and should be performed each day.
This is the simplest exercise. Open the mouth wide and bend the lower lip inwards. Then close the mouth slowly so you engage the chin muscles. Repeat this for a while.
Stick it out
Open your mouth as wide as you can and start sticking out your tongue slowly. After you reach the furthest point with the tongue, return it back, again slowly. Do this ten times.
Position the head upwards and protrude the lips as if you were kissing. This is a very effective exercise which engages the neck muscles.
Touch the nose
Most people won’t be able to touch their nose, but the key is to stick the tongue out and reach for the nose. You will feel the neck muscles engaging in this activity.
Tilt the head back and look at the ceiling. Then, push the lower jaw forward and you will stretch the chin area. Stay in that position while you count to 10 and go back to the beginning position. Do this 10 times.
Put both of your fists under the chin and push the chin down as you use your fists as a resistance. Stay in that position for 5 seconds and then release. Do this as much as you like.
Look forward and start slapping the area under the chin with the back of the hand. Do that for half a minute. It sounds weird, but it helps.
The perfect oval
First, turn the head to one side and push the jaw forward at the same time. Stay like this for couple of seconds and then do the same on the opposite side. This exercise will give you that perfect oval face shape.
Stand on your feet and drop the chin to the chest. Then, move the head to the left side and stay in that position for 5 seconds. Go back to the chest position and move the head to the right and again staying for 5 seconds like that. You should do this for a whole minute.
This is a similar exercise as the previous one, but this time you won’t stop at either sides, but do a full circle.
Tongue on teeth
Open the mouth wide and press the tip of the tongue to the bottom row of the teeth. Take deep breaths as you stay in that position for a whole minute.
In and out
Press your thumb on one side of the jaw, and the fingers on the opposite side. Hold the hand and begin pressing forward with your neck and head. Do this for half a minute.
Lie on your bed on the back and put your head to hang off the end of the bed. Then, try to lift the head to the chest. Stay like that for 10 seconds and go back to the beginning position. Do this couple of times.
The food way
First thing you should know I that eating certain foods won’t eliminate the double chin by itself. However, some foods can help this issue and you can use some for massage.
Chewing gum is a great way to engage all your muscles on the face.
This butter is known to make the skin more elastic, which is great if you have a double chin. Use warm cocoa butter to massage the chin and neck as well. You should massage this area few times per day for couple of minutes. Do this in the morning and before you go to bed.
Wheat germ oil
This is also a great massaging oil. You should start from the bottom of the neck and go up. Do this for around 15 minutes. You will need to do this only one time per day, before you go to sleep.
You can make a DIY face mask by combining 2 egg whites, 1 tbsp. of lemon juice, 1 tbsp. of honey, and 1 tbsp. of milk. Apply the mask all over the neck and chin and leave it for half an hour. Then, wash the face and dry it with a towel. Do this every day.
Milk makes the skin soft and nourished, and can tone the muscles on the chin as well. Massage some milk on the chin and neck for couple of minutes and wash it with water. You should do this 2 times per day.
This tea contains a lot of healthy nutrients and antioxidants, which keep the skin healthy, while eliminating the free radicals. Green tea is known to slow down the aging process and make the skin more elastic. Therefore, you should consume couple of cups of green tea each day to see the results.
